I was in a wreck a few weeks ago and opted to take the insurance money and fix Yoda myself.

The AC condenser and a line were damaged from the hit, I have replaced both. I believe my next step is charge / recharge the system?

I should just be able to go to auto zone and get a recharge kit and follow the instructions?

I more wanted to make sure there are not any different steps if parts had been replaced.

    Thanks!

Yeah you should be good to go. Autozone requires a healthy deposit. Think it'150.00 You get it all back though, except rental cost. Good instructions come with it. Did you replace the radiator, receiver? Just wondering.

Anytime the systems been open for an extended period of time it's good practice to replace that drier. Think about it like the air filter of your a/c system, but instead of dirt and crap, it filters out moisture.

Before the recharge you're going to need to add some PAG46 compressor oil to the system. When you got hit, was there a large amount of green oil all over the front end/engine bay?

No green anywhere it was a light enough hit just for a penny size puncture in the radiator and bend the condenser

So the system was discharged in the accident, no pressure left when you opened it up to remove the condenser, and no oil residue?

If that's the case, you're going to need to add 50cc of PAG46 oil to that condenser before you recharge the system. If you get a new drier too, which i highly recommend, you'll need to add 20cc of PAG46 to that.

Check out my how-to and ask me if you have any more questions.
