I just bought a 2000 Tacoma (Reg. Cab, 2WD, Manual) that has 300K miles on it. The engine has been replaced, but I'm worried about the suspension. I also wanted to lift the body a little to prevent scraping on large bumps. I really dont want to go to all the trouble of finding the right lift at this point, so I was wondering if I could replace the OEM leaf suspension on the rear end with the OEM suspension from a prerunner of the same year.

I have not come across any threads talking about this, since most people want a lift kit. I really just want a little bit more carrying capacity, and some bolt on suspension. Will this work/ can anyone point me to an appropriate thread?
