Does this FJ TRD center cap fit sport rims for a 1st gen?

I have a 1st gen DC with TRD sport tacoma rims and purchased some TRD FJ center caps. I have seen some others on this forum put the center caps on their sport rims. I can't get them on my 1st gen??? Does anybody know why the center caps wouldn't fit my 1st gen but fit 2nd??
