Hey guys, so my old PS rack was shot and I replaced it months ago with a Safari Rack (Atlantic). I had a hard time getting one of the PS lines to thread, but finally got it to. Over the months I noticed it would leak about 1 drip per week from where that line meets the rack. I know it isn't much, but I want no leaks. I'm going camping tomorrow and will been to be ready to offroad my truck. I went ahead and tightened the lines a little to see if that would fix the leak, but now the one line is leaking a lot. I'm noticing drip marks in the driveway all the way up to where I park immediately, so it's a pretty bad leak.

The lines are those pictured in picture #1 attached. It's just the lower of the two that leaks.

Any advice on how to fix this?? Do I possibly need a new line? Could I have stripped the rack? Can I use teflon tape or something and rethread it in there?

It's hard to tell from the pictures what's going on.. you could try to Teflon it. I would make sure the rack isn't stripped, and also make sure the fitting isn't.

Other than that all I can say is bring plenty of power steering fluid with you on your trip!!
    Have fun camping!!!

Teflon tape is only useful on tapered threads like pipe thread, if the fitting uses a flared or o-ring seat then do not use teflon. Replace your o-ring or check the seat of your flare and replace whichever part needs replacing. I've seen flare sealants, but most of them are like using radiator sealants to seal leaks. You're only putting a bandaid on the problem and most likely causing more problems using them. Your call, fix it right or fix it again later. :)

Show pics of the fitting removed so we can tell what's going on. Betting it's something as simple as an o-ring or gasket but you're showing different connection/sealing points on the box that appear to be leaking.

It's a threaded fitting. I backed it out, but not all the way and ghetto stuck some teflon on there. I'm going to replace the line to be sure there's no issues in the future. It leaks sometimes now lol. It got me through the trails this weekend though!
