on pdtotherMAXs page he shows him doing the mod to his lights taking out some of the chrome and making it black does anyone know if you can do that to like an 01 prerunner? and how?

I've never seen them done on a 1st gen, but I don't think it would be so difficult. I know there are about 4 clips or so holding the front plastic lens to the housing. I'm not sure, though, if that's the only thing holding them to the housing. Also, on our 1st gen trucks, the lens also helps to focus or defract the light and is not clear like the 2nd gen lenses. FYI, they do sell some of the blacked out 1st gen headlights on eBay for about $100 or so with shipping.

ok ill look at those. do you know anything about cleanning the lennses? and on my truck the whole headlight is like glued on their are 2 littleclips but you can see where their is glue.

Might have to follow the same directions as for the 2nd gens if you want to do something like that.
