Can the 5spd hold up to a supercharged 3.4 better than the auto?
Looking at my trans options (Upgrade auto, or swap) as I just found out the local parts store sells superchargers and turbos for $40, and trans for $150.

What price? That seems too low. You sure those are the prices for super chargers and turbos?

That seems way too low. Are you sure its not one of those intake manifold air spinner things?

$40 for superchargers, $150 for any transmissions.
Most of the low cost is it is a U-pull yard.

I can get a 5.3 vortex for $300 (pulled, but without a key, and unknown mileage)
Looking at it for my 65 c10 project.

    Yep, I'm sure.
    They are also used parts.

Ah that makes more sense. Still super cheap though!

Without a key? Is it normal to include ignition and key with a scrap yard motor?

I'm pretty sure the 5.3 has an immobilizer so if they didn't supply that you would have to get everything reprogrammed.

Just looked at the website again and transmissions are $65, engines are $150.
