Howdy all, I've been reading on this but have been coming up with mixed info regarding the install.

I have a 2k taco that started with more rake than I like, but have put a heavier bumper and winch on the front so it has become more pronounced. I don't want to lift the truck or go larger than the 31" tires it has on it, just level the front out. And do so without dropping another grand on a lift kit to get it done.

So I'm thinking the 1st gen tundra's on the front will do so, and I've read of them being used for that purpose. But I keep coming across using either only the springs because the struts won't work. The springs themselves not fitting. The strut/spring assembly being bolted in with no mods whatsoever, and using the springs/struts from the tundra but having to swap the taco top plate over.

Anyone know for sure which is actually correct?

The truck has about 100k on the odometer so I'm guessing the shocks/struts are due for replacement anyway. I don't want to do the work to replace the struts alone knowing I'll just have better dampening on my over-raked truck.

Grey wire and keyless entry. I like stock.
Use the struts and springs from the Tundra and use the top plates from a Taco or 4runner. It works very good. I rode that for maybe a year before I sold my Tacoma. I found the higher mileage you got on the Tundra, the better the springs felt on the Taco once transplanted. I got maybe 1-1.5" of lift in the front. No aftermarket bumper or anything though.

Did this idea ever follow through?? Thinking about doing this as well for a cheap, rake-cure solution.

You can also get the 1999 4runner front springs. I got about the same lift and spring lb as the tundra. I got them from rock auto for 50.00 shipped.

How much lift did you get with those springs?
