I'd like to add a compass to my dash or console. I tried using my backpacking compass in the cab, engine off, and noticed that it was way off. This is to be expected with all the truck's metal. With the engine running, I'd expect there to be even more magnetic interference.

So, has anyone been down this road yet? An adjustable compass, a clean installation, night illumination, etc.

    Thanks for the assistance.

Sure, added an auto dimming/COMPASS/Temp/homelink/map light Gentex 341 with amber lighting to my regular cab. I guess it is adjustable somewhat - you get to pick zone when you calibrate it. It is illuminated and in a handy spot on the rr view mirror to be seenwithout focusing elsewhere.

...........or you could spend more than I did on the mirror for this compass/altimeter/temp digital gauge.............
