A marine seal is where they seal off all electronic parts and anything else mechanical that can get effected when you drive your truck under water

I personally wouldn't drive my truck under water, with all those fancy, expensive electrical parts.
And even if you did manage to seal all electronics you still have your alternator. Which I don't see it being possible to seal with that belt attached to it.

I just installed a Safari snorkel on my '99. The main reason to do so is to get a cleaner intake air supply (I drive a lot on dusty roads and dry lake beds). Installation calls for a sensor-safe silicone to seal the connections in the intake tubes between the snorkel and the air box.

Resurrecting a dead thread but I was interested in whether anyone had performed a marine seal on their Tacoma (or any vehicle really) and had recommendations on what electronics to pay particular attention to.

I dont' want to submerge mine. I'd probably be wet in the cab if I did.. I bought my snorkel as an insurance policy and don't really ever hope to be in water above the tires. I just dont' want to worry about stalling and having water flow back up exhaust or have to worry about electronics going out a few weeks later.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll see what info they might provide.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
They may be referring to "marine sealant". There's numerous types. I have atleast 5 different type tubes in my garage. I m a boat guy. Check out West Marine for the stuff.
