I've seen them as low as $2500 and that was what I was hoping for but I lost all my links that I had put together long ago.

I like the price on that one. Thank you, good sir!

Be careful. When I was in the market, I noticed the overall price was about the same as cheaper options had more shipping tacked on.

Yeah, I need to pretend I'm shopping and see if they tack on shipping.

I found a decent deal on a S/C w/ TRD 7th Inj Kit but I need to do some more reading on the pros and cons versus the URD 7th Inj kit. Plug and play has its appeal but I know adding a S/C opens a can of worms.

And trd 7th doesn't allow tuning. Pointless.

This. And IIRC it retails for more than the URD. Highly recomend the URD kit (which I believe comes with Denso IK22 spark plugs which are highly recomended due to the heat from the SC).

I found a deal where total cost is 3.3k for TRD. Partly why I'm trying to find the S/C alone at 2.5k since the URD kit goes for 900.

I still have much reading to do to figure out how deep down the rabbit hole I want to go.

Another perspective to consider, the TRD S/C is a great upgrade and comparably easy to install, however a Turbo is can better option if you have the fab skills and get the proper sized turbo.

Below is the thread that sold me on the Turbo. Its not a build I recomend unless you have the patients and deep pockets (while it can be done for comparable cost to the TRD S/C, to do it right is $$$).

    http://www.samsonfab.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=34

I can't verify his turbo temps (they will vary based off what you are running) but his S/C temps and power loss is straight from the manufacture.

Yea I've read through his thread. The numbers are a bit upsetting. I do agree turbo is better, but however, the TRD S/C is still a great little performance upgrade. It's perfect for what I want. I know my truck isn't a race car. It really helps bring back the power I loss from tires, armor, etc... And like you mentioned, the ease of installation is great. If I had the money, time, and patience to turbo mine, I'd definitely consider it. Especially if I was looking for the best possible performance. Kudos to you for following through with your turbo build! I can't wait till your done! lol.

This seconds some of my thoughts. I'm looking to get back some low-end oomph that I lost with the added armor. I regeared to 4:56 for the 33s but after adding the Budbuilt and the winch, I feel like I'm back to 4.10.

I will be following that turbo build though. :burnrubber:

How do you like the 4.56s? I've contemplated upgrading.

Its been a real headache at times but it feels good to take my time on this. I have a DD car so I can afford to take the truck appart for extended periods of time. Its really been a huge learning experience for me and I can't wait until it finnally comes together.

I need gears bad :p Im considering 4.88's because the 4th gear is so tall but 4.56 should be more than enough I think.

I loved it until I added the budbuilt skid and warn winch. Before I added them, coming off the line was soooo much fun. My mpg went down but joy factor went up.

When I started thinking about the S/C I briefly thought about going to 4.88. I tossed the idea because regearing is something I've done already and S/C is something new to figure out.

I couldn't see driving around in a manual with full armor and winch on 4.10s. 4.56 is definitely a must-have mod and 4.88 is definitely a gear ratio to research and consider.

I have a manual with a skid and baja bumper (pretty light). I thought 4.10's with a S/C and 33's would be ok, and it is. Just wondering how the S/C would feel with 4.56's....
