So I went and got a tune up for my taco and they told me that I need to bleed and flush my brake fluid. Is that something that really needs to be done or are they trying to squeeze money out of me?!? Also, would it fix my squeaky brakes?!

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
We can't know the answer based on the little info we have from you.

How many miles on the truck? When was the break fluid last changed?

The squeky brakes will only be fixed with new pads.

not going to fix the squeek.
is the fluid clean or dirty and how old?
brake fluid is like a sponge and will absorb moisture.
    flush and bleeding is easy

So I bought it used but I doubt it's ever been done or if it has, it's been a long time. So, I guess I should probably go ahead and do it eh? What are the side effects of never doing it out of curiosity?

The fluid can be tested. They sell strips to dip in the fluid to test for contaminates.Maybe the shop tested it or found something not right.Check it yourself.

New fluid = improved braking (assuming the current brake fluid is more than 30,000 miles old). Speed bleeders or vacuum brake bleeding kits make it a pretty easy job.
