I just installed some icons coilovers adjusted to 3 inch lift on my 03 taco double cab. The ride is still a bit stiff on the road. I know it's a truck and it still going to ride stiffer then a small car but is there anything else I can do to make it run a bit smoother? Maybe take some air out of tires? Change ball joints? What do you guys recommend ? Thanks

No experience with Icons but usually 3 inches of lift is right around the max on a lot of coilovers. Turning them down some would likely smooth it out, but you'd lose some lift

Yeah 3" is max per Icon's adjustment guide.

Either lower them down .5"-1" or drop the psi from 250 to 200.

After market bumper. I have a bar bumber with 3 hella lights on the front. I bought them off my best friend. He only had them for 3k miles. I drove his car truck before I bought it and it had better ride quality then mine. That's why I purchase them.

I agree with what everyone else has said about dropping them down a bit BUT if you really want 3 inches then consider the following: what springs are in them, 650 or 700 and then if your bumper is heavy with a winch etc you may want to get the 700's and crank them down less. Assumes they are cranked down pretty far to compensate for heavy front end. All that said it is a truck and you have reached the max for Icons, it will be rougher than running them at 2 inches.

Yeah you'll notice a difference at 2.5" over 3". Also if you really wanted to you could bump up to a 14" 600lb spring instead of the 13" 650lb springs that are stock on Icons. It will soften the ride and probably keep the same preload even with the bumper.

I'll have to check on the preside and 650 I believe on the preload.

I have a front diff drop at home too. You think installing that will help a bit?

Just lower the coils, no need for a dd if the co's are adjustable.

The diff drop has more to do with drive shaft angles.

Preload is easiest measured in inches. It is how much you compressed the springs, via the adjustment collar, to get the ride height you want.

As others are suggesting, you might want to unload the front springs some to get more comfort but it will drop the nose down.

And lower the psi of the shock, by 25-50 psi.
