    i just bought a 97 tacoma xtra cab 4x4 lx that needs a tranny, automatic, it goes into every gear on the shifter but will only go forward. i was wondering if anybody could tell me which years had the same tranny in them. thanks in adv

    What engine do you have? 2.7 or 3.4?

    Im pretty sure you have the A340E, so any tranny from 1996 to 2003 should work.
