replacing pcv

    Hey guys, lookin to change out my pcv it just "pulls out" correct? Also I'm kinda worried about the grommet being brittle is that something I can get at a parts store or is it a dealer item??

    Yes, the PCV just pops out, but that grommet gets old and hard, which makes it tougher to remove the PCV valve. Grommet is a dealer item, but well worth replacing.

    Be sure the old grommet doesn't disintegrate when removing, so that pieces of it fall down inside. If that happens, you'll need to remove the valve cover to remove those pieces before starting the engine.

    Is there any certain technique that works better than another fur getting that grommet out without losing some of it into the valve cover? Does the grommet come out with the valve or does it out after the valve has been removed?

    I actually got some needle nose pliers....mine broke in half but nothing fell in the hole. Now I just replace the grommet about once a year and it comes out fairly easy.
