For brake problems most shops will give a free diagnoses.

Had this problem before. Turned out it was an axle seal slightly weeping a bit of oil onto the drum. Damn thing would lock up on me at a light or something, embarrass me. I've had to take the wheel off multiple times and clean the drum and shoes with brake clean. Used a bit of sand paper on the shoes as well to try and get that "polished" look off the shoe and it helps with getting the oil off, gives em a bit of "bite" back as well. Its really hard to get the oil outta the shoe it really absorbs it up. But after multiple cleanings I got her to not lock up.

I had a similar problem, where the rear brakes would "shudder" when lightly stepping on the brakes at very low speed. Problem was solved when I replaced the rear shoes (which looked fine), with new OEM ones.

Jack the rear, take the tire off. Spin the axle, if it bites more than the other you could try a adjustment.

I looked up my problem on google a couple of days ago an that came up as being one of my problems an I'm hoping that's not it cause that looked like a pain in the ass but I saw when it leaks that it leaks all over the back of your tire an it's not but I also saw you have to replace your pads cause there's no way you can clean them but anyway thanks for the info

Yeah, my leak was just a weeper so it never made it out and onto the back of the tire. It only takes a few small drips of oil to cause your brake to lock up. Changing out the seal wasn't super hard but wasn't real easy either, axle has to be pulled....

I just had to get the rear axle seals replaced and my drums turned, as they had leaked all over. $700 later...
