2 Lo mod without a switch (Keep your truck stock)

    I found a very simple way to get into 2 lo without any mods, wire splicing, or even removing any interior trim pieces. Simply unplug the connector under the hood that operates the VSV on the front diff. This does the same thing as installing a switch on one of the wires (prevents the VSV controlling the ADD from operating). I'm not sure which years/configuration this will work on but, any truck with a VSV controlled ADD will work. It should work with most J-shift transfer cases. The electric operated ADDs should work too if there is a connector that is easily accessible.

    This method of accessing 2 lo is good for anyone who wants to keep their truck stock, but occasionally could use 2 lo. I will be using it for occasional trailer backing. The downside is, you have to get out of the truck to enable 2 lo. This however acts as a fail-safe so that you don't accidentally reengage the add while your truck is moving.

    I just put the tcase in low and don't lock in the hubs, BAM! 2 low. ;)

    at first I was thinkin gettin out to unplug the that connector would be a pain in the a$$, but I guess it ain't really no more hassle than what us low tech guys with manual hubs have Ta go through.

    And really you only need to keep 1 unlocked

    Not sure I would want to keep one locked and one unlocked..doesn't sound very good for mechanical things

    Wont hurt no more than the add only disconnecting 1 axle and the other spinning spider gears.
