Agree, but as this is a first gen discussion forum, somebody might see the thread, think "that has nothing to do with me and I can't help them" so just glance past it.

If it's in the marketplace, they'll say "hey, I can buy a key with remote built in...awesome"

Just wanted to share my great experience with neneago...just bought my used 2013 last week and it only came with 1 key and fob. I thought the dealer prices were a total ripoff considering the antiquated look of the OEM key, so I started searching for a better solution...I discovered this thread and tacomaworld...

Ordered all in one remote key last Wednesday on ovnisf.com. neneago shipped it the same day and it made it from CA to RI and was in my mailbox on Saturday. Insanely fast and efficient shipping for free! I went into the dealer and had the key cut and the chip programmed today for $45. The service rep told me that the fob buttons would not work with my truck and gave me the programming sequence he had been trying.

Came home and tried using the sequence below that I found on TW and it worked first try!

Overall, very easy procedure, neneago is selling a quality product for dirt cheap! Nicer than OEM for much less.

Here's the procedure I followed that worked on my 2013:

    1. Unlock and open the driver's door; keep the rest of the doors closed
    2. Insert key in the ignition and pull it out twice within five seconds
    3. Close and open driver's door twice within ten seconds
    4. Insert key in the ignition and remove
    5. Close and open driver's door twice within ten seconds
    6. Insert key in ignition and close door
NOTE: Some cars required to close the door first, and then insert the key in the ignition
    7. Turn ignition from lock to ON and back once (P.Mode)...
    8. Remove key from ignition
NOTE: The door locks should lock and unlock automatically to indicate is in programming mode
    9. Press lock & Unlock buttons at the same time for two to three seconds
    10 Press the lock button
    You are done!

Thanks! Chip programmed?? $45 to cut your key as no chip in your key. Total rip off.

My key arrived via USPS yesterday, 17 Nov, after having been ordered on Sunday, 15 Nov. :D

It took only about 5 minutes to program, following the instructions in this thread.

The local dealer took about 20+ minutes to cut it and charged me $20 for doing so. (Inexplicably pricey compared to the entire new key, including cut, I got from them a few months ago for about $15.)

It works perfectly. Thanks, neneago!

It worked like a charm for me using these instructions:

    1. Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and
    drivers door is unlocked.

    2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds.
    A. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
    B. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.

    3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
    A. Close then open the drivers door.
    B. Close then open the drivers door.
    C. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.

    4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
    A. Close then open the drivers door.
    B. Close then open the drivers door.
    C. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition.
    D. Close the drivers door.
    E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
    F. Remove the key from the ignition.

    5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically
indicating successful entry into programming mode.
Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.

    6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
    A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remtoe simutaneously for 1.5 seconds.
    B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons,
Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door
locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If
the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote was
    not accepted.
    C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote.

    7. Open drivers door.

I tried twice with the ones listed here and it never took, worked on the first try with the instructions I listed above.

Same steps I posted, just worded a bit different. Step 6..B.. might be different in some vehicles. I have noticed that after releasing lock/unlock, some cars will accept remote with unlock, lock or unlock/lock. Very strange. This I only noticed with the remotes I sell. OEM is always Lock after the initial lock/unlock.

It wouldn't work with my 2004 using unlock, but worked perfectly with lock.

The number on the back of my key is FCC D:BAB237121-056. How do I know which key on the website to get? I assume it's on of the first two on there. Thanks

My key came today!! It was very easy to program if you follow the instructions right. Took it to lowes and they cut it for me for no charge since they didn't have anything to charge me for! Worked perfectly. This is honestly probably the best purchase I've made for my truck so far (besides my lift, sorry :p ). But seriously I would recommend this to anyone. Great quality key. Good work neneagro. Make some stickers for your key and I'll be your first sponsor :D

15% off Coupon. Will only work for the first 10 people who use it.

"tacoma" is the coupon without the quotes.

any chance these would work with an aftermarket keyless (viper) entry?
