the more research i do, the more confused it get. just purchased a 04 DC SR5 Prerunner, looking to do mild lift as i rarely will be off road if any, plus i still want to fit in the garage.
after research, i have decided on the bilstein 5100 for front set to achieve 2.5" lift. will probably go ahead and get 5100's for rear as well for improved ride quality. what is recommended for the rear in order to sit level? i do not want any rake or lean. also, want to stay away from blocks so i am thinking AAL??
    any help is greatly appreciated

An AAL would be a good option to lift the rear of your truck to match the front, as long as your stock leafsprings are in good shape. Wheeler's has several options for AALs depending on how much lift you want . The other option would be to replace the leaf packs with Dakars, Deaver, All-Pro, or something similar. The good thing about replacement leaf packs is if your stock leafs are getting worn out, these will give you a lot of extra capacity for towing, hauling, etc.

If you haven't already read it, check out the Lift FAQ.

I've never had 5100s on my truck, but the general consensus seems to be that the ride quality will be quite a bit stiffer, which some people prefer but others find jarring. I have Nitrochargers on my truck, which maintain a pretty good ride IMO.

i researched the FAQ thread but there seemed to be majority of comments relating to second gen. ill look into the nitrochargers as well, 5100's seemed to be a popular choice. i wouldnt be doing much towing or hauling

I have 5100s on my 02 ex cab. The front did not lift very much. I put 5100s on front and back and still have a slight rake. The rear being higher that the front. I bought a 1.5 3 leaf progressive for the rear and did not install it.

Look at combining 5100's with an OME coil. On my second gen I got almost 3 inches of lift with an OME 885 and 5100's...I don't know about first gens, I wanna say like an OME 881 or something I've heard.

considering the OME's as well, my truck as 105k and not sure how worn the stocks are. id rather do it right the first time than have to go back and install new parts
