I went and got a set of factory wheels and the centercaps that came with them wont fit on the front wheels, were they different for the 2wd and 4x4?

Well, the 4x4 is 6 lug and the 2wd is a 5 lug, so yeah, they were quite a bit different. Honestly though, I wouldn't worry about the center caps, as they serve no real purpose and are made from plastic, unless you wanted the look. I took mine off after the silver paint started chipping off.

The Prerunner is 2wd and 6 lug, I have the 4wd TRD offroad wheels on my Prerunner with the center caps.

Yeah, I just wasnt sure if he had the Prerunner or regular 2wd, so I just assumed the second.

I have a 98 4x4, I want them on to keep the wheel locks from getting dirty.

I've done a mod or two
They don't cover the locking hubs, only the auto ones can be covered.

The manual locking hubs have a dust cap on them. The handle that you turn is the dust cap. They are meant to be exposed so that you can get to them on the trail
