Anyone hide, ( secure ) there hand gun in there vehicle when they can not conceal and carry it into a business, as there is not a lock on the glove box or console.

use that small pocket behind the drivers seat to put it in and you can fasten a hinged bar with locking hasp to lock it so the cover cant be removed or you can screw a secure lock box straight to the floor of the truck in the back seat.

another option is a locking tool box in the bed, it can be very useful thing for putting all sorts of stuff even if you don't carry tools and that is a "sorta" secure place to put it

they make small side boxes that tuck into the fenders on side of the hump if you don't want the full box across the truck

    something like this: http://www.realtruck.com/dee-zee-wheel-well-tool-boxes/

I have hid mine in the center console and under the passenger seat.

Other times I make the wife go in and I wait in the truck. ;-)

My center console has a lower compartment, I leave mine there, I'm thinking about adding a lock to it.

Not totally sure, but let's say that you hide a hand gun. It gets found and used to kill somebody.

Police think it should have been locked. Attorneys argue it should have been locked. Family of the dead cry it should have been locked. State laws say it should have been locked. Other laws about manslaughter say it should have been locked. Society believes it should have been locked. The mainstream news says it should have been locked. The manual that came with your gun says it should have been locked. The jury thinks it should have been locked.

    You might have a problem.

pretty sure your right on that, it could be a big liability issue if not securely locked somehow that a reasonable person should assume it cant be accessed by simply breaking into the truck

WHAT ^^^ HE SAID! I am going to go with this, its better than just leaving the gun hid under the seat or in the console. I garage my vehicle and lock it in the garage.

    http://www.amazon.com/GunVault-NV200-NanoVault-Style-Pistols/dp/B00384755S

This will work for just a quick run into a place where guns are prohibited, altho I intend to carry 99% of the time. I think if you do not leave a bunch of $hit visible in your truck your chances of a break in are less.

    :stayontopic:

If I lock my truck anything in it is secure. Nobody can break into it without breaking a law. The rest is just a big hypothetical assumption. My state does not require my handgun to be locked up, only concealed, and no license to carry in a vehicle.

I just toss under the seat every morning and take it out when I walk in the house. Been putting something under there the past 5+ years.

I put mine in the pocket behind the Passenger seat, easy to get to and no-one really looks there if they are breakin into the truck. But it's almost 15 years old, so I doubt they will.

LMFAO That's like one of the most popular hiding places known to humanity. If I was looking, it's one of the first places to check because that's where people hide their good stuff, like tablets.

[Sarcasm On] Nobody ever thinks to look there. Nobody ever steals an old truck for a joy ride cause it's easy. Nobody ever breaks in only to look for valuables. No, it never could happen. [Sarcasm Off]

Many years ago, before I was so mature and wise, I had one stolen from that pocket.

    I still miss that gun.

Tell you what, you do what helps you sleep at night and I'll do what helps me sleep at night. Sound good? Going off topic in this direction will get this thread locked. I have no intentions of that so I'm staying on topic from here on out.

twfsa, this might be a better question to ask in the guns section rather than in the general populace where others who don't share our same interest can fawk up the thread.

It's rare that a business around here posts signs against weapons. If it does, I just don't give them my business.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Walmart just has a quick sale on Nano Vault 100 for $12 each free shipping to store and I picked up two. Just need to find a place to mount it now.

Rides with me wherever I go now. Lost a full box of original Black Talons and a 44 Blackhawk that was loaned to me due to full vehicle theft. Told the responding officer what had been taken and he winced hard. Said he doesn't like hearing of 44's being taken because of the wholesale destruction it can cause. He heard Black Talons and I thought his head was going to spin and spit green,,which is understandable.

    No.

Read the title of the thread. I'm putting forth and debating reasons for keeping the gun securely locked. Don't you get that? Sounds on topic to me.

Trying to push me into not voicing my opinion regarding the title of this thread isn't going to work.

How many of your posts have to do with the thread title? If there are any posts here that are off topic they're yours. And this one of mine.

Ok, enough of this. Back to the discussion.
