just wondering if anyone replaced the moped meep meep horns we have with something that makes more noise?

I want something that honks and not a wussyfied meep meep

I realize there is no end to aftermarket horns out there but just wanted to know what you guys are doing and if there is a popular choice that fits without needing modded brackets

not looking for train horns or musical horns just as basic loud horn like something you yank off an old full sized truck that's a straight forward plug in deal not needing relays, air pumps, or extra wiring

Yea the 5 lugs have a wimpy horn. Maybe go to a junkyard and look for some off an older big car, shouldn't cost much and be easy to fit.

I thinj the perunners and 4x4 trucks might have 2 horns that would bolt directly on to yours.

Simplest mod is to just put the 01-04 horn in place. Plug and play. All you have to do is find a place to mount the second horn behind the grille. Plenty of holes/options on our core support.

    It isn't just 5 lugs.

My 4x4 V6 TRD had the "meep meep" horn. All 95-00 did. They changed it in 01-04.

I love the taco horn. You have some a hole cut you off and run you into a ditch so you lay on the vehicle equivalent of 'HEY SAILOR! WHOOP WHOOP!'

I have both a twin and a triple tone Hella air setup if you want either. I used to call it the "green light wake up"

The old horns sound like a dodge road runner horn.

New Taco horn isn't bad. Non air Hella is a nice sound. Just find a vehicle that you like the sound of and steal their horn.

A local guy here put a set of 4 cadillac horns on his taco that he got out of a junkyard. Pretty loud, but low.

I'm using the twin Hella horns off an old Land Rover or maybe it was a Mercedes. They are real loud and kinda deep.

thanks for all the help guys, think i'll try the wolo and see how long it lasts.

I had one on my motorcycle and it was nice and loud but exposed to the elements like it was, the shell soon filled with air driven water so it crapped out after only a few weeks.

I will still keep an eye out for a junker somewhere that I can get a free horn from, because the ones people sell want like $25 or more for em

well I think maybe his mistake was trying to run them without a separate power supply and relay, if you put too many things on one wire the voltage drops way down. because I don't think Cadillac horns should have a low sound????

I used a relay but thanks for the low voltage lesson, it has been awhile since 8th grade. ;) It is obvious you have never heard a Caddy with the four horn option. Four horns and each horn is a different note. It screams, " I am a retired, pretentious, over insured old prick so GTFO of my way! Haha
