I have a 2003 Tacoma with the TRD package, 2WD. I've been doing alot of research about lifts and wanted to ask what people typically do for our trucks.

I was comparing body lifts vs suspension lifts. Seems that body lifts r cheaper but may required additional modifications, while suspension lifts r more expensive but may cause problems with shocks, driveshaft, and tranny.

I wanted to ask if anyone could recommend a specific kit that wouldn't require any other modifications and wouldn't risk the life of any of the power/drivetrain. I'm looking for about a 3" lift, and something on a budget.

Welcome to the site, and if you click the search button on the top portion of the page and type 3" lift you will see tons of threads.

Just to get you started. Theres some nice 3" lifts out there. Most people prefer the OME (old man emu) 3" lift, billstein 5100 ( 0-2.5" lift up front) and coilovers. Check toytecs website for specific parts info. :cheers:welcome

edit- sorry i misread and just seen you have a 1st gen.thought it said 2005 .i dont know if anything i said to you even applies now! lol

    uhh...everything? lol
the best 3" lift can be bought at toytec, its up to you to decide how much you want to spend on it. But even their 300 dollar basic spacer lift is a good choice! The procomp shocks they sell for the rear 3" lift arent that great though....rear bilsteins are the way to go
