How much front lift is possible without diff drop?
I plan to order bilstein 5100's. I see they offer 3 settings, 0", 1.25", and 2.5". I'd like to avoid the diff drop.

Shouldn't need one. In fact, you'll most likely only get about 2" out of them with your stock springs if your over 100k. I'm at 160k and my stock springs and bilsteins on the 2.5" setting only netted me about 1.75"

    98 tacoma 4x4 extended cab
5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
When I bought the 5100's for my 98 the increments listed were .85", 1.75" and 2.5", but I have seen both settings described.

Ok, I see that I will not get 2" front lift from the bilstein's alone. The rear is 2.5" higher than the front, it looks bad. I am about to order the front bilsteins from toytec, if I need a little more can I add the 1/4" top spacers to level out my truck?
