I just recently went to 265/75/R16 from 265/70/R16 on stock. However, I decided to do the spare too, and now it won't fit without rubbing. Has anyone managed to get their spare tire mounted underneath without modding? If a mod is the only option would it be best to cut the back 2 forks off and then secure it in?

    Thanks.

just go back to the 265/70/R16 spare, a small difference like that wont matter because the spare wont be left on it full time anyway.

Mine is a 2003 and the stock size for it is 260/70 not 265/70. I've got a 260/75 spare tucked up underneath just fine.

I haven't run the math, but I don't think a 265/75 is that much bigger.

    Ran the math.

    260/70-16 is 29.33" tall
    265/75-16 is 30.35" tall
    265/70-16 is 30.61" tall
    265/75-16 is 30.65" tall

I'd think if you could fit a 265/70 in there you should be able to fit a 265/75

To answer your question directly, yes it will fit and you can either cut the forks off or do what I did and remove it altogether and re-install the winch assembly. Mine is a 33x9.50x15 spare.
