4X4 Won't disengage

    Hi i am new to the Toyota world i just bought a 95 toyota tacoma ext cab with the v6 and standard transmission my issue and only issue with the truck is when u pull the 4x4 lever it goes into 4x4 everything works great but when i take the lever out of 4x4 and put it into 2wd the truck stays in 4x4 like i said i am new to the toyota world and i appoligize about lenghty thread thanks

    Just keep rolling slowly without turning the steering wheel and it should pop-out of 4WD. Try backing up as well. The key is to relax any stress on the driveline. I presume you are on dirt or snow, and NOT using it on DRY pavement?

    Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
    This, sometimes it takes a few seconds to disengage. You have a fully mechanical transfer case so there's no reason it shouldn't be disengaging unless there is something wrong internally.
