if the manifold isn't cracked now then there is nothing wrong with it, they just wanted to make more money off of you.

if the manifold is cracked then replace it but it doesn't mean the cats need replacing, again, they just wanted to make more money off of you.

and in the future please add the engine type to your profile description (the blue box) because it matters for questions like this.

I had a 95 tacoma with the same problem, cracked manifold. If you search for one on the newer tacomas it will bolt on and work, i think the 99- 2004 will fit but check around to make sure, they are made of steel instead of the old cast iron ones which are prone to crack. I found mine on line but your local junk yard can locate one for you, i paid like $150-$175 for mine years ago.

How do you know the cats are clogged and what did you do?
I have a cel lite on for the past 4 yrs and the code is p0400 or something.
Bank 1 heat sensor or something. My muffler has a hole in it.
Also I have 2 cats. Not sure what to replace.

well my durn check engine light came on the way home from getting truck bought from an person so i was screwed from that and i could hear that my manifold way bad but wthats 350 buck and then have a good pickup. so a week or so with the check engine light on i wehnt to a local shop and the ran the code and it was the p0400 code or what ever. but i was getting like 23 mpg so i wasnt to worried bout it. that was in march so thanksgiving week i was in the mtns and my tail pipe fell off with one of the bracets fell off in july so i seen that coming so i go get that pixed and i now neeeded a muffler and he tell me that the muffler is lifetime warrnty but only if i get manifold fixed and so i wen ahead and fixed cats to. it was 720 buck for one cat(older model tacomas only have one cats. idk what year u could probley google it) an exhaust manifold, muffler and tale pipe. it hit me kinda hard.
