Been a long time Tacoma owner an forum lurker. Recently began to start the modding on my new to me 98 Tacoma. Missed my 03 so much I had to buy another first gen! Anyway I know how to find the Axel ratio but on my trk sticker inside the door its got a ? Mark an I can't find anything on how to figure it out. My trk is a 98 sr5 3.4 v6 auto off road with rear diff lock just in case needed to know. If anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it.

If I remember correctly all 1st gen trd OR's have 4.10's. That could only be the manuals though.

    Welcome to TW man!

As long as a previous owner hasn't done a gear swap on your truck, you most likely have 4.10s in there. I have owned 2 1st gen TRD 4x4 v6s with the elocker and that is what both had.

You have one of the earliest ones if the build date is correct. The very first ones were built in November 1997 as a '98 model. I am pretty sure that all of the ones with the TRD package, specifically, the elocker and the v6, came stock with the 265/70-16s tire package and the 4.10 axle ratio.

Thanks for the info. More then likely they are 4:10's BC original owner did no modding to trk. I got luck an have every service receipt from original trk purchase an trucks super clean. Never been offroad an frame was undercoated back in 98. Its cleaner then my old 03 I had that I bought with 30k back in 05.
