arb bumper, 3 inch spacer lift (it needs to go!), 3 inch OME lift,
Alright gents, want to figure this out. I searched but couldn't find anything pertaining to my issue. My 01 TRD is a manual transmission. Acceleration in 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd results in a whine. I don't recall installing a super charger and my lack of power that would go accordingly with a supercharge is also missing.

There is no whine when in 4th, 5th or out of gear. This leads me to believe it is a transmission related issue. Is this a problem?

Everything works, diff lock, high, low, 2wd. It drives operates fine, I am just wondering if something excessively worn and close to the breaking point.

I agree with what Cody mentioned above . Try some cheap fixes before you come to the conclusion that you have a serious transmission problem .
Your truck is a 2001 , so we must assume it has higher mileage .
Do you know if the transmission fluid has been replaced within a regular interval ?
Lotta guys say the Redline fluid really helps .
Here is another member who had a similar problem .

Mine made the sound your describing when it had an axle bearing going out. But idk with yours only doing it in certain gears. Figured I'd throw it out there anyway.
