There is a set of weld sidewinder wheels for sale on my local CL and im looking at getting them for my 2002 extracab. I'm not sure on the offset or backspacing yet but he claims they are 16x8's. Picture makes them look like 16x10's. If they are 10's I won't waste my time and will keep looking. I was just wondering if anybody has had any experience with weld wheels or if they think they'll fit.

    Pictures and suggestions welcome!

    stuff...
Welds are one of the best wheels you can buy. They are forged aluminum, making them stronger and lighter than most wheels. Most of the wheels you will find are cast wheels, which aren't nearly as strong.

Forget the wheels! Ask him about the Datsun truck they are sitting in!

Donahoe CO's, Deaver leaf paks, Lockright Locker, All Pro body armor ( sliders, front and rear bumpers ), All Pro under belly skids, Warn M8K w/Masterpull synthetic line, Dual Optima battery system, 4 ea LightForce Striker 170 offroad lights, 8 ea wired rock lights, and plenty more I'm sure
1st gen Tacoma factory back spacing is 4.5"
But 4.50 to 3.75 could be fitted.

but even with the correct backspacing of 4.5"
a specific offset is required to clear the brake calipers.

    more inboard then 4.50" tho'
    not gonna happen.

It is my guess that these will not fit the 1st gen Tacoma.

So if you can't trial fit them...
    I would choose another.

Thanks for the input! I think I'm going to hold out for something different!
