I run them, but they're set at 0. My front lift comes from the OME 881 coils with which I paired them.

FWIW, however, I'm happy with the the ride they provide. Pics are located in my Gallery.

I'm set at "1.25" its more like 1. I have ride rite air bags and its very near level give or take 1/4in. Without airbags it would be level exactly. Love the look especially with 265's. I dont have any pics sorry.

Crap...ok. I'm looking at a full OME kit but not sure I want that big of a lift, plus I'm on a budget. I'm thinking of just going Billie in front and general springs or wheelers for the back with 5100's.

I don't have any first-hand experience with it, but the full OME kit looks good and gets great reviews. I went with Wheelers 5-Leafs (because I didn't want as much lift as the Dakars provide), OME 881s, Bilstein 5100s all-around.

From a cost perspective, I remember both options being about the same. Also, keep in mind that lifting with 5100s is accomplished by pre-loading the front coils, which provides a somewhat harsher ride than new coils.

Understand preloading the spring increases its resistance to compressing. But to what degree? If you put a 5100 on the middle setting and use the original (OEM) spring, would the ride be noticeably harsher?

I'm just looking for about .5-.75 inch lift up front to better match my airbags in the rear.

BTW - was out in Monument, CO last year - very nice place! Heading back this year to serve as a home base while we ride BMW 1200GS's across the Rockies.

There is no 1.25" on the 5100s.

    You can go 0", .85", 1.75", and 2.5".

Oh wait, I'm talking about 2nd gen 5100s, not 1st gen.

    I'll let myself out.

I replaced my coils to avoid pre-loading, so I can't say exactly how noticeable the harshness is. I suspect it's in the "tail end of the beholder" but, based on what I've read, the affect isn't bad on the middle setting. (It becomes more pronounced on the highest setting.)

We've been in Monument for several years and like it. Unfortunately, it's lost some of its small town charm as it's grown in size and population.

Thanks stumpman! I'm pretty sure I'm going that route, I just think 3" lift might be a bit much and o I don't wanna chase vibrations. I realize these shocks preload the coils and aren't ideal.

I suspect my truck won't look too much different than stock with my 265/75/16 duratracs filling up the wheel wells.

I like the firmness of the 1.25" setting, 2.5" would be harsh ride, I wanted more lift myself, but after researching it, if you do it right you will spend money, if you go 2" plus on the front end with shocks and coils only, you gonna have premature failure on other components,so do it right, you can probably gonna spend $2000 plus,

Running 5100s @ 1.25". The truck is slightly higher in the front (probably due to saggy oem leaf springs), but the ride is pretty good. Thinking about going with 5100s all around with 881s and Wheelers 5 Leaf, but I would like the truck to be as level as possible.

Truck looks really good with the 881s and Wheelers 5 Leaf! Do you have any sort of spacer (such as the 10mm lift enhancer) on top of the 881s for additional lift? Also, how level is your truck and what size tires are you running?[IMG]

    Thanks for your kind words!

I'm not running any kind of spacers. I haven't measured in a while, so I'm not sure EXACTLY how level it is, but I think it still LOOKS pretty level. I upgraded to LT265/75R16 Duratracs last Fall.

Yup your truck looks killer, I may have to re-think my suspension again...Just curious what was the deciding factor for going with Bilsteins vs OME nitrochargers? I'm also considering the 5 pack springs, they seem like a better option over the Dakars.
