You still went with OE? If you wheel you might end up regretting that.

yea. I went OE. I checked the angle on my axle and it looks a lot worst than yours at 3in. I called SDHQ to order the boots and they told me that if the stock boots aren't working than their 930 boots wont either for the anlges.

If it ends up not working out. I will give the SDHQ boots a try.

Read everything. Still not sure if sealant is required or not. LOL

Edit: Nvm. with a stopper no adhesive/sealant is needed from my understanding.

image.jpgFinished the mod. For the inner ring clamp I had a hard time getting it all the way to the last hook. Do you guys think this is ok?

Bottom line, if it doesn't leak it is tight enough. That being said I always manage to get it to the last hook. I use channel lock type pliers to get the leverage and have been known to "dress" the jaw tips with a file/grinder. There isn't much to grab so it helps to have good sharp edge on the pliers and the right angle.

Yea. I was using my channel lock snap ring pliers but I was only able to get to the second hook. It's not leaking right now and the fins aren't runbing anymore and I'm happy. But I'm afraid to wheel it right now. I was planning to use my needle vise grip lets to help squeeze it tighter but I can't find them at the moment right now. I'll check on them regularly.

If it's as tight as you can get it, should be fine.
Maybe try again, the boot may have conformed a bit and might now be receptive to one more click.

Here's an early clamp tool I had long forgotten about.

yes. I'm planning to try it again soon. Hopefully needle nose pliers will be fine.
