My '97 4WD 4-cyl 5-speed doesn't have cruise, but I'd like to add it. Would I be better off adding the OEM cruise, or an aftermarket kit?

If the OEM cruise kits are still available (which I doubt), they'll run more (price-wise) than decent aftermarket kits.

If you go the DIY route (transplanting cruise from a donor Taco ...) you have to be careful to get *ALL* the necessary components (including controller unit and wire harnesses) for it to be cost-effective. Multiple people have started OEM cruise transplant projects and ended up abandoning them for lack of the proper parts.

IMHO you're at least as well off (if not better off ...) just going the aftermarket route.
