Wanting to put 16x8 Pro Comp 7189s on my 2003 4x4. A guy at 4wheelparts says 16s won't fit on the 2003, must be 17+. A guy at Pro Comp says the only Tacoma problem he knows of is 2005+ brake calipers hitting the spokes.

So does anyone out there have Pro Comp 16s on a 2001-2004? I really need to know what the deal is before I order these things, shipping wheels back ain't cheap.

Couple shocks, some old tires, and a bad paint job
I'm not a big talker on here but you will be fine running those rims as long as you get a good backspacing on them.

Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
they are 4.5" backspace which is stock...

you should be fine if not going bigger than 265-75-16 tires...
