How much lift needed?

I have a 04 double cab 4x4 TRD and I am really considering putting 33"s under it. BUT I seem to get all kinds of answers from the shops about level lifts, 4 inch lifts and cuttting front fenders for clearance turning and such. What would you recommend? Any help is greatly appreciated.

most people with 2.5" - 3" are running 33"s.

You can run 32"s on stock suspension, but it will rub when the steering wheel is at full lock.

 

Yeah... I would say 3inch would do it!

 

Thanks for the info...I was hoping you would say that. I really didnt want to get to drastic since I drive quite a bit for work and I didnt want to do any body lift on top of suspension changes

 

You will need atleast 2.5 inches of lift and wheels with a backspacing of 4 or less to clear 33's

I would go with 3" lift. I had to do trimming with my 3" and 33's.

 

Thanks again for the info guys...And the backspacing thing I hadnt even thought of..I think I may do the Tuff Country 3" spacer lift and blocks in the rear and get 33/11.50 Mud Grapplers w/ 16 X 8 Moto Metal 955's...I hope so at least

Yeah backspacing is important, 33's on stock wheels with rub frame on full turns

 

I put a 3 inch on my 01 DC, tried on 33's and they rubbed like a mother. If your staying on the highway you will be fine. If your going to Moab or do some nice wheeling they you WILL rub.

 

If you do any type of wheeling, Stay away from spacer lifts!!! I use to have one and the ride ON road was rough and harsh, let alone offroad.

 

Well I pulled the trigger on some 32" MTZ's with 16 X8 Moto's and a spacer lift in the front. I really wont go off road much, I havent since I got the truck a few years ago. I just want the look to cruise around in and fool around in the snow once or twice a year. Do you guys think I am screwed on this set up?? I guess if it doest work out to well, I will just have to do the real deal...hopefully it will work for riding to and from work, and hunting and fishing spots

 

No theres nothing wrong with a Decent spacer lift! I Wheeled the piss out of mine, and the coil overs are fine! now there on my Friends Taco.

Just do what makes you happy and Dont blow a bunch of money on shit you'll never use!
