Most of our trucks do it to some extent. Just keep your foot on the brake and you shouldn't have any trouble. As far as I know, there's nothing that can be done to correct it.

Yes there is. You add an extra leaf.

An AAL will help, but so will anything that stiffens up the rear.

I've found that if you let off the brakes a tad before coming to a complete stop, less energy will end up being transferred into the rear leaves, thus reducing axle wrap. As annoying as it is, it isn't really hurting anything.

I'm having the same thing happen to me when I stop. It's been getting worse. Toyotas are notorious for rear leaf sag. I know my leaf springs are shot, (no more arch on 'em) so I'm probably gonna get new ones soon...guess it's time to lift this sucker.....

"Letting off the brakes". It helps. I've started doing this....it does seem to help a little bit....

I was shifting into neutral before I came to a stop and only putting it in Drive when I anticipated the light to change.

I just put a Wheeler's 5 leaf pack on last weekend and *poof*, axle wrap is nearly eliminated (I only feel a slight stiffening of the rear when I stop now, so it's still being affected, but it isn't a clunk, thump, jump or feeling like I was bumped from behind).

New Pioneer stereo, and all 4 speakers with Infinity components. Sirius satellite radio. Deckplate mod done. Door buzzer silenced forever thank God, tinted windows, vent visors, hood protector(bug guard), ceramic pads and new rotors, dechromed EVERYTHING. 2" Lift front 3" rear. Skyjacker AAL's and replacement leafs(and front spacers) from Fatbobsgarage.com. Skyjacker 7000 Hydro rear shocks, those Bilstein 5100 fronts are coming soon!
Mine does it too. I have been letting off the brake a tad when I am almost at a complete stop. My springs are shot to hell, one has a broken leaf(middle one). I am ordering either OME Dakars, or skyjackers next week. I replaced the OEM shocks this past weekend and oddly it did help a lot. This gives me a reason to lift the puppy now, and it's proof for the wife to see. I took a picture of the broken leaf so she didn't think I just wanted to buy new toys....

This is what I'd like to do with my truck soon. Have you wheeled it yet, just wondering how it handles....

Not yet. I hit a hill that goes up to some train tracks by my house, but only to ensure everything was seated and settled before I retorqued it all. I don't plan on wheeling it much anyway - some runs to Tahoe for snow and Pismo for sand a few times a year is all.

On the road, it's both softer (rear) and stiffer(front), than my worn out setup was before.
