deck plate mod

Been hearing a lot about theses can someone clarify what it is and how to put one on and what does it do?

 

cut a hole in your intake box, install a deckplate in case you want to cover the hole, and it is dyno proven to be just as, if not more effective than a cold air intake, and for a fraction of the cost

People cut a hole in their airbox and put in the deckplate. When the insert is removed, they get more airflow through the intake. When the insert is screwed in, they have stock airflow.

The deckplate insert is removed in the above pic. They also added some window screen to keep out any extremely large pieces of crap that might get sucked in.

So if you already have a cai you cant do deck plate mod correct?

 

If you've removed the stock airbox, then no you can't do it

 

Save your money and do the deckplate mod, it'll yield the same if not better results than the so-called CAI.

 

And it is dyno proven, which many CAI's are not

 

did the deck plate mod recently and love it. best $10 ive spent. only take like a half hour too!

 

I tried this mod but cant get the air box out....how do you disconnect the MAF sensor without screwing things up? Help asap!!!

 

basically....the maf just unplugs, then you take the scres out, and the sensor will lift out.....thats on the v6.
