weight

anyone know what a 1st generation, reg cab, 4WD weighs? im just curious because i have seen one website where it claims to weigh 2800 lbs (with 4WD) and another one claims 3500 lbs (with 4WD). i think 2800 is too light and 3500 is too heavy. can anyone clear this up for me? and the curb weight comes from manual tranny

Sorry I cant tell you, but find some scales, thruway, landfill, junkyard, OTR trucking company, they might charge a couple bucks, but you would have your answer. Good luck, send some pix and tell us how much it weighs, it would be cool to know, I'm going to say...3014 lbs.
Let it be said... let it be written.

the title says 3001 lbs, so that might be right haha, but what im tryin to do is is to get to 190 hp like the 6 cylinders have, but with the weight advantage of a smaller motor . im tryin to keep my budget around 1000, or below 1500 if i can but that might prove difficult b/c im still lackin about 30-35 hp

According to the brocure I have from 04, (granted 04 is late gen 1, but it is still a gen 1) 4x4 regular cab with a manual trans has a curb weight of 3,290lbs.

well i found one from jet performance for 311 dollars. they require you to send your ECU to them for recalibration and have them send it back to you the next night. they claim around 10-15 hp, but not bad for the money
