I bought my 2002 tacoma used and the guy I bought it from said that there was a rattle in the dash board since he had bought it. Does anyone have the same problem and know exactly what it is so I dont have to take the entire dash out to try and fix it? I think its just a loose screw that the factory forgot to tighten down.

Theres a few threads about this already. I cant remember what size rubber strip they use but you put in in between the dash and the windshield search for that thread so you will know exactly what to do. To fix it

I took my '02 DC in to the dealer in 2003 and they fixed my dash rattle under warranty. In fact, I think I remember them telling me that there was a TSB on the dash rattles.

I have a simliar problem on my 02, and I haven't gotten to it yet. I'll be checking it out in a few days, and I'll let you know if I find anything. Mine's just above the air vents in the center of the dash.

no it's not a recall. toyota calls a it a tsb when there is a knowm problem but it's not a saftey concern.if your still in warranty they repair it for free but if not it comes out of your pocket.

New Pioneer stereo, and all 4 speakers with Infinity components. Sirius satellite radio. Deckplate mod done. Door buzzer silenced forever thank God, tinted windows, vent visors, hood protector(bug guard), ceramic pads and new rotors, dechromed EVERYTHING. 2" Lift front 3" rear. Skyjacker AAL's and replacement leafs(and front spacers) from Fatbobsgarage.com. Skyjacker 7000 Hydro rear shocks, those Bilstein 5100 fronts are coming soon!
Join the club, mine used to do it too. I took a, get this, toilet leveler(small plastic wedge about 2"x3") and pushed it down between the dash pad and windshield, it went away.
