help installing CB radio

    hey i got an 02 tacoma and i want to install my small cb radio
    i just got it today and i do not know how to install this thing

    I saw somewhere that you can connect it to your battery but the wires are too short!

    some help would be nice

    thanks i want to get this done tonight

    what all came with the kit? did you get 18 feet of coax cable?

    getting there....
    gonna have to lengthen the wires and run to the battery with a fusible link, and i'd ground at the battery too. here is a pic of where i installed mine.....

    it came with a black and red wire
    no coax cable

    It's just two wires and a cable...you'll be fine! :thumbsup:

    yeah but how do i get it all the way to the battery and how to i connect with wires and where i get fuse link

    but yeah, your gonna need to pick up some coax cable for your cb antenna. do you have an antenna?

    gotta run thru a grommet on the fire wall...and autozone has fuselinks(as well as walmart).

    Local autoparts store. They've got looms of wire and in-line fuses. They can help you get the right gauge wire too.

    i dont have an antenna yet but there is a warning on the radio. it says
    This power cord is for 12 volts DC

    ok so ill just need to go to a store to get a longer wire and a fuse line?
    that sounds easy now but where do i connect the black wire?

    you need 2 long wires...a red and a black....black goes back to the negative on the battery. see my previous post.

    dude, you wil need an antenna for this thing to even work. or else you run the risk of blowing up your cb

    yep.....better head to a truck stop and pick up even a cheapy antenna.

    I've even seen a cheapo magnetic antenna at Wal-Mart for $10.
