90k Service

So my 2000 tacoma recently hit the 90k mark and I wanted to get a few things done to it. Here is the list:

Timing Belt
Front Brakes & Rotors
Water Pump
Spark Plugs
Some kind of secondary belts the guy told me to replace as well.
Anyways the tab came up to be 1300 with parts be 500 something and labor 7 hundred something.

does this seem right to anyone? I've had my truck serviced there before and they seem very trustworthy.

 

Do it yourself or trade it.

 

fawk me that alot of money. hope i never get to 90,000 mile service.

 

dude you could do all that execpt maybe rotors with house hold tools...you also have to change out your fuilds your forgeting that.

Timing belt,water pump, & belt/s should be done together. That seems steep. No need to do brakes just because you hit a certain mileage. Only do those as needed. Sparkplugs do yourself. Very easy and inexspensive.



I would check around & see what other shops charge. Use Kudzu.com to find a good shop. Kudzu has customer reviews.

 

I'm changing the brakes because they need to be changed...so you guys think i'm getting burned I might get my neighbor to help me out with this one.

Just curious...how much should it cost approximately to do just the front brake pads along with rotors?

 

The prices seem about right, at least for dealer prices. I highly doubt you are going to get that all done anywhere for less than a grand. All total that is a lot of work being done.

 

Do it yourself. Maybe the timing belt you can pay someone if you dont know how to put it back on timing but everything else is simple.
