With that many miles, how is your Tacoma still performing ? Does these trucks require more frequent maintenence at that high milage ?

These machines are definitely built for abuse. My tailgate is badly bent, but that is about the only damage on the truck.
Damn! That is amazing.

The truck is starting to cost me money now. One leaf spring on each side is broke.

Heres is what I have had done since I bought it new in 96

starter
two after market cats with o2 sensors
two front wheel hubs, expensive
battery
plugs, wires, rotor
bushing in shifter
brakes,, never had to do the rear yet

My 96 is at 209,275 and it runs great. I get my oil changed every 3,000 miles or so. My taco is going to make it to 300k. I'm damn determined to drive it until it explodes.

164k = blown Engine for me in my 99... previous owner didn't believe in maintenance. All is well though, I found an engine out of an 04 with 5822 (actual miles) in a junk yard after searching for a month. The motor was still in the truck and carfax checked out.

God is good.

tick under 252k on my 00' and it purrs like a midget kitten...

Last fill up was 22mpg (this is in a ext/ TRD w/ 31"), original cat passed emissions 4 months ago (at 248k) and this particular truck has delivered all over Colorado (at least half in terrible mountain weather) for 190k of those miles.

This 2nd gen taco and the 3rd-ish+ gen pickups w/22RE's are what hold Toyotas reputation IMO.
