O2 Sensor resistor mod?

Does anybody know the correct resistance to put a resistor in line or the rear O2 sensor to shut the check engine light off? My cat is non exsistant but i want the light out and the comp to read right. anybody ever try this?

 

does ur truck hesitate, backfire, and when you give it a some gas it feels like you didnt give it gas at all? cause thats what mine is doin b/c of that stupid sensor...i wish i could rip it out and have everything running right but sadly thats my own little fantasy world lol

 

I don't remember if your ECU is that intelligent but on recent cars, if you put a device that always gives the same voltage, You're gonna have a CEL because your ECU will deduct that your 02 sensor doesn't work properly.
I guess what I'm tryin to say is buy another one and save some trouble.

You can also try to put a test pipe on it and see if it works if you have no cat.

 

wont a testpipe do the same thing because its not converting the gases like a cat?

 

I don't know if test pipe is the word you use but a test pipe for me is a little pipe that is threaded in the end so that your 02 sensor can fit in it. Basically it removes your 02 sensor from it s factory position which is directly in your exhaust pipe and it moves it maybe a couple of inches away from the exhaust so that it doesn't see everything that comes up but only a certain quantity. I think some people call this a J-pipe.
Sorry for the poor explanation, (my english is limited) maybe someone here can maybe post a picture of a test pipe so that you know what i'm talking about.
Anyway, it works 8 times out of 10.

 

that makes sense. i could prob make one if i had demensions that were functional. yea ive only heard of a test pipe as a pipe with 2 flanges that replaces the cat for "exhaust testing"
