No Front Brakes

My 97 Tacoma sat up for about 4 months. Now it has no front brakes. New mastercylinder and bleeding didn't help. It seems the front isn't getting enough fluid. What gives???

explain more?

do you have air/water in your lines? did you mix any other fluid with brake fluid possible, could debris be clogging the lines? please elaborate a lil more so we can help you

There should be no water in lines I have bled them enough I feel. Although there could be trash. It did set up for a few months. My back brakes work fine. I suppose maybe removing both ends and purging front lines??? or even replacing them???

ok when you flushed your brakes, what method did you use? and when you did flush did you "bench bleed your master cylander?"

id check for any leaks, cracks or kinks in the rubber hose, also see if your proportioning valve is functioning properly, although i have never seen one go bad, but it can always happen. if you flushed and cant get any or very little fluid out the front your lines may be clogged id replace the rubber portions and see about finding a shop that can pressure bleed.

and if you have mixed something that has not been designed to go in your system ie DOT 5 brake fluid oil, tranny fluid ect immediatly flush your brakes and ge all rubber peices replaced for they may have swollen resulting in limited brake fluid flow

also is the master cylander functioning properly?

how much brake fluid do you have in there

i am going to bed, its getting kinda late for a school night (i get up at 7 for my first class) pm me your phone # if this doesnt help and i can call you inbetween classes (11:40-1:30) or after (6-on)

Need more information!

Whatta you mean by - it has no brakes?

Is the pedal soft and/or goes to the floor? Or is the pedal actually stiff like normal?

Have you checked for leaks?

Have you inspected the calipers?

Maybe the calipers are frozen? Perhaps some water in the fluid caused some rust between the pistons and the bores.

Yesterday I checked the right side caliper and all 4 pistons moved. Today I blew out the lines on the front (both sides) from the master cylinder through the calipers. Had to stop for ring ceremony at high school for daughter. Could it be the adjustment on the pushrod???

Dude, you really need to give us more information.

WHAT IS IT DOING??????

What does the pedal feel like?
Is it hard?
Is it soft?
Goes to the floor?
Doesn't move at all?

Did you drive it somewhere and suddenly the brakes stopped working?

How much fluid was in the resevoir after this occured?

Did you check for leaks?
What color is the fluid?

**Now that you've opened up the lines near the master cylinder, I would higly recommend BENCH BLEEDING the master cylinder and putting it all back together and bleeding the whole system all over again.

How are you bleeding them?

You said the rears work fine?

Pedal go's to bottom, fluid level is full, it started after my truck had sat up in my shop while I waited on my negative checking balance at least got close to zero before repairing my overheating problem, as soon as i drove it out of the shop it had no brakes,when working on the motor the brake system was not touched,the back brakes work but the front don't, the pedal is not soft it just grabs the back brakes before bottoming out,
