I let my sister borrow my 1987 F150 she drove it all day with the Ebrake on and warped the drums, destroyed the shoes, melted the rear seals. I smelled it when she pulled in the driveway and I was in the house. Never again, That was 20 years ago. She said it drove weird.....DUH..... I won't let the service people drive without me in it....... They do stupid shit like check the 4WD on dry pavement at 60 mph. People do stupid shit all the time.

yep, having a truck with a manual transmission definitely cuts down requests, since a lot of people never learned how to drive using a clutch

Nobody borrows mine. I will help out anyways I can, but only myself and my wife. (I guess my dad if he ever needed it which would be very rare). It isn't that I don't trust people, I don't trust other drivers on the road these days. If someone hit my truck w/o me in it I would be pissed as I would always feel I go have avoided the accident. Knock on wood, <kock knock>, I have been very lucky with all my Tacomas. Only time was some small compact car went under my bumper and ate the hitch lol. I don't think it even scrtached the hitch. Ladies care was effed up.

I don't mind, but mostly family that borrows. But after gettin in and out of my taco, even with a 3 inch, they have second thoughts about borrowing it the next time. I used to drive a GMC Sierra 1500 4x4, now my nephew drive's it, and they borrow his now.

always was very liberal with my 2000, then a 'friend' who was staying at my place used it for a month while I was out of the country and left it with an empty tank and outstanding parking tickets! After that the list of trusted friends got alot shorter...

My reason for being so liberal was to avoid having to participate in everybody's move - after years of truck ownership I've gotten selective about volunteering my time, my back, and my truck, and pretty deft at sidestepping excess obligations, but some folks just won't pick up on a subtle 'no'.

It'll be awhile before I'll be handing out the keys to my '010... at least until the new smell wears off!

Hmmm It would have to be a female that met all the criteria that might be able to borrow my truck.
    1. Red head or blond
    2. Cash or couch
    3. All others need not apply.
