04 tacoma xtra cab cannot start

I have a yota 04 xtra cab that cannot start.changed the fuel pump and the fuel relay switch. still won't start. engine did try to start when we managed to get some fuel in the carb. if you have any ideas let me know.mahalo

 

The carb? The Taco is fuel injected.

When you try to start it, are the dash lights working? Do you hear only clicks? Have you checked the battery?

 

will be trying to get a code reader,and we have checked the fuses. mahalo for the advice

 

didnot notice the dash lites but will be checking it now, battery had to be recharged to full swing,don't know what you mean by clicking noise?whether it cliks while we are trying to get started ,or just the clicking sound when i turn the key an nothing else. mahalo

 

no smell of raw gas,as for filter thats something that could be looked at.mahalo

 

yes intake,no back fire an smell of raw gas.need to chek filter mahalo

 

also if the crank position sensor is out it will just crank and crank no fire

 

aloha, GOT IT STARTED!!!!.The problem was corrosion in the harness under the steering.green corrosion was the problem.I guess the beach surf an open doors with the stereo going while parked on the beach has its price.Mahalo to all who took time to give us a hand.
