2004 tacoma mud flaps on a 96 or 99

will they fit?
The dealer told me from 1996-1998 they have different mud flaps then a 1999-2002 and from 2003 -2004 there different as well.
You would think they would fit on all 1st gen.

 

how are they diffrent????

IMO truck looks better w/out em'... but i dont see why they wouldn't fit

I have taken my front mud flaps off my 01 and put them in the garage and i did notice that the front flaps off my brothers 96 were smaller than mine, but idk they might still fit. My buddy took his front flaps off his 03 and im pretty sure they were the same size as mine.

But idk about back flaps if thats what your talking about.

 

idk, im just quoting what the Dealer told me. I was kinda shocked that they wouldnt be allllll the same.

 

the cut our for fender flares is the difference.
96 don't have fender flares as the later models.

 

yes they fit. I have one from a 2004 tacoma and one for a 96. same blot holes just that the ones for 01-04 are a little wider i think.

 

Considering the front ends were different 95-97, 98-00, and 01-04, I would say the dealer doesn't know what he's talking about.
