Wouldn't that LOWER the height of your truck (in the rear)?
Why did they tell you to do that? What's their reasoning behind it. I'm not sure why you'd want to do it...unless you were baggin your truck.

The only way I could see that working is if you only flip that bottom thick leaf, but I've never heard of it done and don't know what the outcome may be.....is it safe???

Never heard of flipping leafs but my 95.5 had a problem with the rear leafs breaking and that is installed factory.New springs are cheaper than any of the outcomes I can think of Keep us updated first time for everything.

Are you talking about completely flipping the leaf's over so it's like /\ instead of like \/? i've seen it done on more 'trail' savy rigs, but i wouldn't recomend it on a daily driver. it's a lot of work, and means welding and making braketry, as well as a serious decrease in ride quality on the road. flipping them usually means a very serious lift...

I don't even think that's legal to run on the road.

I wouldn't, I flipped springs on an old Scout and it was the worst, after I couldn't take it anymore I flipped them over again ( original setup) but they had cracked, not made to ride inverted, so I had to replace, could not find used, could only located one side for new, had to have them made, I actually had to sit own when told the price. A lesson that stays with me to this day, I will do a few mods on the truck, but no lifts.

IMO it puts a lot of stress on the spring leafs during max compression, I don’t like the idea. The one person I still have contact with that did it finally swapped in some aftermarket spring packs. Other than that I’ve never heard of flipping them to get lift. |
