Icon, Fox, SAW, King...can't go with any of these companies.

But since you mostly stay on the tarmac, Bilstein/Toytec will fit you just fine.

King coilovers, Racerunners, camburg are all good. I would even go with Icon, out of these 4 there are no major differences, just color. Pick your favorite color and you'll be happy.

A few good buddy's of mine have all bought trucks with fab tech and nearly all of them have had enough problems with it that they decided to replace it with different companies shocks. One of them had a 04 ranger edge and it had fab tech shocks on and while he was out wheeling he blew his left front shock and the right one wasn't blown but it never functioned as good as before. He doesnt wheel too hard either. Basically i have seen enough broken fab tech parts for a while.

if you go into the archives of TTORA and CT, you will find a number of negative feedback on Fabtech suspensions...

at least from those who wheel pretty hard...

in the last 5 years of being into this sport, i have met a few who had no issues, but i also dont recall seeing them much out wheeling...

IIRC, their basic coilovers are not rebuildable and a number of folks were having issues with the shock bodies leaking...

AKA hearsay over the interweb.

Don't get me wrong, that's like saying my neighbors bigger brother best friend in third grade fucked Kim Kardashian when they were dating years go. LOL! Negative or positive feedbacks can be found with any companies. What I'm looking for is actual proofs of why a certain company have "shitty parts/quality"....not just another misinform info posted on a forum.

well, a number of those folks are people i have hung out with and have seen the carnage myself...

not sure how it is with a lot of folks here on TW, but on TTORA and CT, the vast majority of members actually know each other in person and hang out, so i tend to trust a lot of the feedback...

my cousin works at 4wheelparts and he has had several Fabtech coilovers come back damaged and since you can't rebuild their basic coilovers, its pretty much a disposable product... in recent years, Fabtech has dropped a lot of time and effort into quality, but it can be hard to change folks' minds...

earlier this year, before i went long travel, i had busted my donahoes so they offered to sell me fabtechs but advised me not to offroad them based on the type of offroading i was into... they suggested i only use them to clear my 33s until i either went LT or had the money to step up to Kings or Fox...

in essence, while online feedback is subjective, it can, to a certain extent, be a valuable way to learn from others' mistakes...

as for hard proof at this current time, that would be hard as there are not too many folks who abuse their trucks, running fabtech right now...

in fact, i think the fabtech race truck driven by Barry Karakas is now running sway-away...

Gotta agree. A have a few friends that ran Fabtech, and the shocks would blow, or springs would break.

although, i do know of someone who beats the crap out of his truck and did run the 2.5 dirt logics and really liked them before he upgraded to Icons...

the only cons to them were that the springs settled too much too fast and customer service was horrible (i believe when he tried to get them rebuilt)...

when he sold them, the new owner went out to replace the springs on them...

LOL, I think you misunderstood what I meant. I couldn't give a rat's ass of how Fabtech perform and how reliable they are in tested environment. Its just when someone make a blanket statement without any solid proofs is what makes it comical.

My dad has been working with King for the past 15 years in manufacturing and engineering development with most of the shocks they have out in the market right now so you can take a wild guess of what I have on my truck. And being in the off-roading industry for the better part of my life, I think I learned a thing or two when it comes to choosing what's the best bang for your buck. I'm also on TTORA & Pirate...I'll leave comments regarding CT to myself. These "forums" are just to serve as entertainment purposes...some just take it a bit too serious and be keyboard warrior.
