Hello Guys, i am planning on getting a Tacoma 2000 4x4 TRD

I might have about 5k spare to put into mods, What i am really looking for is to make it ready for the desert. Not really racing but at list make it better than stock to handle some Baja Dessert Running.

So if you had a Stock Tacoma + 5k what would you do?

    Thanks

I'm not to all familiar with the long travel kits but here is some good info abotu them :)
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/56245-long-travel-information.html
For tires and rims that is really all preference lol. Rims you could do anything with and for the tires it all depends on the terrain that you really drive on. Street and sand, vs rocks and mud, or all the above. For a good bumper, since you got the money, you could get someone to fab you one up or get something like mine. I know there are other kinda "desert " style bumpers available.

Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
5,000 wont be enough to complete the truck, but you can certainly be off to a good start with about 5,000...

there are a few tricks to the desert scene if you play your cards right...

PM me for some tips and tricks...

You're going to need more than $5k for LT imo.

With 5k you could have an awsome midtravel set-up front and back, rims, tires, and a regear. A well rounded truck.
