I've got an 2003 Taco here on the lot now and I've got a vibrating type rattle coming from the dash between the pass. airbag and windshield.

I talked to the toyota dealer here in town and they tell me it is fixed simply by foam or some cushioning material.

Anyoone had this problem and fixed it on their own?

Thanks a million in advance for your suggestions and reading this post.

    getting there....
i was having the same problem with the wifes honda accord....so i cut a couple of pieces of rubber floormat and wedged it between the windshield and the dash, kind of out of sight, and it has worked fine for the past year. just a suggestion....cheap fix.

My '04 creaks in the same spot. Worse when weather is cold. I will attack it soon and see what's up.

I think all 1st gen's have that dash rattle including mine. I took a strip of dense foam (5"lx1"wx1"thick) and wedged it between the dash and the glass right on the middle. It seems to have solved the problem.

I cannot find any info on a queer vent rattle vibe in the defrosting vents with the heater on the defroster
    What could it possibly be
It happened outside of dunkin'Ds whilst parked and typing my on-the-go order for the drive thru
    :notsure:

this 'gremlin' may go deeper than this simple solution but idk yet :notsure:
it doesn't 'feel like' the dash it sounds like the vents beneath it
a new A/M windshield was put in almost 2 years ago

Just wedge something there and see if it fixes it, I wedged a piece of cardboard in mine aswell to stop the rattle.

I ran a piece of small diameter rubber tubing all the way across the front of the dash. Where the windshield meets the dash.
Before that I had matchbooks in strategic places along the dash. :D
